Our Services

  • Preventative care consists of regular dental check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and the application of dental sealants to protect against cavities. Our goal is to instill good oral hygiene habits from a young age, ensuring a lifetime of healthy smiles. Through education, early intervention, and routine care, we help prevent dental problems before they start, keeping your child’s teeth strong and healthy.

  • Restorative treatment addresses dental issues such as cavities, fractures, and other problems that can impact your child's oral health. This service includes the repair and restoration of damaged or decayed teeth using techniques like fillings, crowns, and baby root canals. Our team is skilled in using child-friendly methods and materials to ensure a comfortable and positive experience. By restoring function and appearance, we help your child maintain a healthy, confident smile.

  • Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a safe, non-invasive treatment option for managing dental cavities in children. This treatment involves the application of a liquid solution that contains silver and fluoride to the affected areas of the teeth. SDF works by stopping the progression of cavities, killing harmful bacteria, and strengthening the tooth's enamel. It is particularly beneficial for young children or those with special needs, as it avoids the need for drilling or anesthesia. This is a gentle and effective treatment, helping to preserve your child's oral health and reduce the risk of future dental problems.

  • Fluoride treatment is a simple yet highly effective way to prevent cavities and strengthen your child's teeth. The fluoride helps to remineralize tooth enamel, making it more resistant to decay and reducing the risk of cavities. This quick and painless procedure is especially beneficial for children with developing teeth, providing an added layer of protection and promoting long-term oral health. Regular fluoride treatments, combined with good oral hygiene practices, can significantly contribute to maintaining your child's beautiful and healthy smile.

  • Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is a safe and effective sedation option for children undergoing dental procedures. This mild sedative is administered through a small mask that fits over your child's nose, allowing them to breathe in the gas. Nitrous oxide helps to alleviate anxiety and create a relaxed, comfortable experience during the treatment. It works quickly and wears off just as fast, enabling your child to return to their normal activities shortly after the procedure. Our team is experienced in using nitrous oxide to ensure a positive and stress-free visit, helping your child feel at ease while receiving the dental care they need.

  • Sedation in pediatric dentistry can be necessary to ensure that a child receives the dental care they need in a safe and comfortable manner. Some children may experience anxiety or fear when visiting the dentist, which can make it difficult for them to cooperate during procedures. Additionally, younger children or those with special needs may have trouble staying still for extended periods. Sedation helps to alleviate anxiety, reduce discomfort, and enable the dentist to perform necessary treatments efficiently. By partnering with a third-party anesthesiologist, we ensure that sedation is administered safely and effectively, prioritizing the well-being of our young patients.

  • Crying is normal! It's perfectly OK for your child to cry during the visit. This might be a new experience for them, and it’s okay if they feel uneasy. The goal is to make future visits more familiar and comfortable for your child. Frequent visits will help them get used to the dental setting.

    Infants:
The first visit for your infant is more about introducing your baby to our dental office environment and meeting the dentist. Dr. Jamie will engage with both you and your baby to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. There will be a quick, gentle examination of your baby's gums, teeth (if any), and oral tissues. Our staff will provide guidance on proper oral hygiene for infants, including tips on cleaning your baby's mouth, teething, and dietary advice to prevent early tooth decay.

    Ages 3 and up:
Once they get a little older, the doctor will perform a thorough examination of your child's teeth, gums, and mouth, followed by a gentle cleaning to remove plaque and tartar. X-rays may be necessary to check for any hidden issues. The current recommendations are to start taking x-rays as soon as teeth are touching, and the frequency is determined by risk-level and clinical judgement of the dentist.

The dentist and staff will show and explain the tools they use in a fun and easy way for your child to understand.

    1. Tell: Our staff explains what they are going to do in simple, friendly terms.

    2. Show: We’ll show your child any tools that may be used, and demonstrate what will happen, often using fun, child-friendly verbiage.

    3. Do: The dentist or hygienist performs the procedure exactly as explained and demonstrated, making sure your child feels safe and knows what to expect.

The hygienists will educate your child on the importance of oral hygiene, and demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques in an engaging manner. Our staff will also encourage your child to ask questions to help them feel more involved and comfortable.

Regular visits will help your child build confidence and trust with the dentist, making future appointments smoother and more enjoyable.
